Leeds Burlesque was started in 2007 by Dalia Hawley (Cecilia Rouge) after she really wanted to learn Burlesque but could not find any local workshops. With the help of Bella Besame who teaches all over the country and the nightclub subculture, Cecilia set up the Burlesque workshops in Leeds. Now in its second year the workshops have featured in the Yorkshire evening post http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/video-and-audio/VIDEO-Erotic-Burlesque-stripping-in.3950353.jp as well as Leeds Guide and BBC Leeds!. Cecilia Rouge has gone on the perform Burlesque herself all over the country including Leeds and Manchester. Cecilia found that Leeds was desperate for something different and she decided to challenge this with hosting Burlesque nights, starting up a burlesque private and corporate events organisation for anyone wanting to add a bit of spice to a party and providing Burlesque classes in Leeds for private groups, and hen nights alongside the main workshops.
