Leeds Burlesque was started in 2007 by international burlesque performer Cecilia Rouge after she really wanted to learn Burlesque but could not find any local workshops. With the help of Bella Besame who teaches all over the North, Cecilia set up the Burlesque workshops in Leeds. Now in its third year the workshops have featured in the Yorkshire evening post as well as Leeds Guide and BBC Leeds!. Cecilia Rouge has gone on the perform Burlesque herself all over the world including New York and Paris. Cecilia found that Leeds was desperate for something different and so she set up various top class burlesque events and functions to run alongside the variety of workshops she had to offer. Burlesque workshops are run by professional burlesque and cabaret performers who dedicate their lives to performing and are renowned over the world, we often have guest performers in to teach and so far these have included Diva Hollywood, Pinkie Special, Missy Malone, Leyla Rose and Joe Black.
